Postal History from Finland 1889 - 1918

Tornio Censortapes from WW1

There are about 30 main numbers in both Termonen & Keturi's material  (T&K) and on the TFP CD
this material has been made from study through latest decades and some of the numbers should not have had a main number. T&K and TFP uses with one or two exceptions the same numbers.

I will try to show the Censortapes (CT) from Tornio in groups:

  1. Finnish / Swedish  text only - no city name (number 1 - 12)
  2. Russian / Swedish text have same length; different font (13 and 17)
  3. Russian text 75 mm (14. 15, 16, 20 and 22a/22)
  4. letter O(ppnats) has "¨" inside the letter (18 and 19)
  5. Russian text 67 - 68 mm (23, 24, 25, 26, and 27)
  6. Swedish Öppnadt spelled with a d (28, 29, and 30)
  7. and finally ...

Part 1:
Finnish / Swedish  text only - no city name

most of these have very short period of use.
10 of 13 CT have misspelled words

If you should have information about this censortape I am very interested in learning about.
It should be easy to spot as it is the only one where the Finnish text is longer than the Swedish.
